Frequently Asked Questions
Who owns the design rights?
The designer/illustrator always keeps the design rights. You can re-use your design as much as you like however we ask that you do not print your design onto t-shirts as this would compromise Blind Maggots limited edition status.
How many t-shirts will Blind Maggot print?
We generally print around 100 units for the first limited edition run. If there has been enough demand, we may decide to print the design onto hoodies, sweaters or even re-print the design onto another colour garment. We will credit the artist whenever their design is used.
Can I submit an image generated by AI?
We screen print all of our t-shirts which means we have to start with a very high quality image and then dissect each colour seperatly. AI generated images are not high enough quality for screen print. We understand using AI can be a helpful starting point for most artists however our 'Artist Spotlight' series is celebrating the pure talent of designers and illustrators and we aim to keep the art alive for many future years to come.
What format should I upload my artwork?
We prefer illustrator (Ai) or PDF files. Please make sure all text is expanded before submitting your design. Email your design to emily@blindmaggot.co.uk.
What is the brief?
The brief is VERY open. All we ask is for you to include the words 'Blind Maggot' somewhere in your design and keep within the guidelines.
What are the artwork dimensions?
The largest print area is 32cm wide x 40cm tall.
Does black and white count as a colour?
Yes. We have to make screens for EVERY colour or tone.
